The best answer to "where do I start with watches?"
Since 1963 the Seiko 5 promise has been five things in one honest package: an automatic movement, day-date display, water resistance, a recessed crown, and a case built for daily knocks. The modern 5 Sports keeps that promise and adds the looks, divers' cases, GMT bezels, and colorways from restrained to loud.
It is the watch we put on someone's wrist when they ask what a "real" mechanical watch feels like. If you catch the bug, Presage dresses it up and Prospex takes it diving, but plenty of collectors never stop at one 5 Sports.
Every one we sell is warrantied as authorized-dealer stock and comes back to our own watch bench for sizing, seals, and eventual service.
A 4R36 mechanical movement you can watch through the caseback, no battery, ever.
Authorized-dealer paperwork with every watch, not a gray-market gamble.
Bracelet links adjusted at the counter, free, it wears right from day one.
The first watch they will keep forever.
A 5 Sports is the classic first mechanical watch, meaningful enough to mark a graduation or a first job, priced so nobody is afraid to actually wear it. It winds itself off the motion of the wrist, and decades from now it can still be running.
Come in with the person, or come in alone and we will help you pick the dial. Gift-boxed, sized on the spot, and backed by the counter it came from.

Seiko 5 Sports, answered
Do I ever need to change a battery? +
No, there is none. The automatic movement winds itself from the motion of your wrist. Leave it off for a day or two and it stops; pick it up, set the time, and it runs again. That is the charm.
How accurate is it? +
Expect roughly plus-or-minus half a minute a week, normal for a mechanical movement at this price. If set-and-forget accuracy matters more to you than mechanics, a quartz Essentials is the honest recommendation.
Can I swim with a 5 Sports? +
The 100m rating handles swimming and showers fine; it is not a saturation diver. If you want a true dive watch, step up to Prospex, and either way we can pressure test seals at
What maintenance will it need? +
A movement service every five to seven years keeps it healthy, plus fresh gaskets if you swim with it. All of it happens at our bench, the same counter that sold it.
Is the price here the same as online? +
Seiko sets retail pricing, so yes, with the difference that ours comes with a valid manufacturer warranty, a bracelet sized to your wrist, and a person to call. Gray-market discounts usually cost you the warranty.
