Why we recommend it

Sixty years of watches built for professionals.

Prospex, "professional specifications", is the line Seiko builds for people who actually take watches underwater and up mountains. The Turtle and Samurai are ISO-rated 200m divers with cult followings; the Alpinist has been the field-watch answer since 1959; the Speedtimer carries Seiko's 1960s motorsport chronograph legacy.

The honest pitch: this is the most watch per dollar in serious tool watches, and the Save the Ocean editions are the rare limited runs that stay wearable. Want something dressier? Presage is the other side of the case. Starting out? Seiko 5 Sports gets you the diver look for less.

Every Prospex we sell is authorized-dealer stock, and because a dive watch is only as good as its gaskets, we pressure test and service them at our own watch bench.

True 200m divers

ISO-compliant dive ratings, built for the water, not just styled for it.

Real warranty

Authorized-dealer paperwork with every watch, not a gray-market gamble.

Sized while you wait

Bracelet links adjusted at the counter, free, it wears right from day one.

Pressure tested here

Seals, gaskets, and water resistance verified at our watch bench , before and after you buy.

The one watch for the lake, the gym, and the office

Buy it to wear, not to baby.

A Prospex is the watch you stop thinking about: swim with it, hike with it, knock it on the door frame, and it keeps running. That is the whole point of professional specifications, and why so many people end up wearing theirs every single day.

Come compare the Turtle, Samurai, and Alpinist cases on your wrist, they wear very differently than photos suggest, and trying all three takes five minutes at the counter.

Questions we get asked

Seiko Prospex, answered

Can I actually dive with these? +

Yes, the Turtle, Samurai, and King Turtle are ISO-6425-rated 200m divers, certified for real scuba use. Swimming, snorkeling, and recreational diving are all within spec. Keep the gaskets fresh and we will pressure test it any time at

What's the difference between the Turtle, Samurai, and King Turtle? +

Case shape and trim. The Turtle is the cushion-shaped classic from the 1970s; the Samurai is angular with a sharper bezel action; the King Turtle adds sapphire crystal and a ceramic bezel insert. Same 200m rating across all three, wrist shape usually decides it.

What is a "Save the Ocean" edition? +

Special-edition dials, wave patterns, whale sharks, penguin colonies, that support Seiko's marine conservation partnerships. They rotate through production runs and retire, which makes them the Prospex pieces people regret not buying.

Solar or automatic? +

The Speedtimer's solar movement never needs winding and holds quartz accuracy, ideal if the watch sits some days. The automatic divers are the mechanical experience. There is no wrong answer; there is a right one for your habits, and five minutes at the counter finds it.

How often do the seals need checking? +

If you swim with it, have the gaskets checked yearly and replaced at battery changes or service. Rubber ages whether or not the watch gets wet, a five-minute pressure test at our bench is far cheaper than a flooded movement.
